If one has a series of, say 14 races, with 50% of races actually sailed
plus 1 to qualify, and we don't sail say, 2 races, what is the best way
of showing these races as non-sailed, while adjusting the discards and
qualification threshold to take into account the fewer races in the
series?
I was thinking along the lines of
Qualification Rule 1/2*s +1 + (number not sailed/2)
But maybe its cleverer than that and I don't need the +number not
sailed/2 bit
But I'm not sure how Sailwave handles a race that has no competitors
entered to it at all. No doubt I will find out <g>, but any thoughts
much appreciated

Hi Chris,
You don't need to worry about it (if I interpret you correctly); there is a
difference between the number of races in the series (14) and the number of
races actually sailed, so if you always use expressions based on the number
of races sailed everything self adjusts as the series progresses...
Races that are not sailed - no results entered for them are skipped as if
they didn't exist...

If you are going to use a formulae it would be (s * 0.5) + 1, if you use the string of numbers it would be 1,2,2,3,3,4,4,5,5,6,6,7,7,8.
