Upgrade from 1.57 to 1.88

Hi,
Can i upgrade from 1.57 to 1.88 and still hold on to all of my previous
race/series results?

Thanks,
shemjo7

Hi,

No problem at all. Just remember to backup all your old Sailwavefiles before
using a later version. 1,88 has a newer "fileformat" and is not "compatible
downwards" to earlier versions.

Yes but you cannot always go the other way. Save your series files first.
1.89 fixed a bug in upgrading 1.57 files with fleets in them.

Suggestion to include a function such as "Freeze Panes" as is found in
Excel.

Why? I find now that we have get to the end of the year and the end of the
series, I am scrolling to the right so far, that competitors names are
scrolling off the left of the screen. It makes it difficult to immediately
jump to the boat, who's result I wish to modify as I now have to scroll left
first to find where this boat is located in the list.

Regards
Terry

I think that the freeze frame idea is very good to be re-introduced.
Previous versions had this feature I think and I found it very
useful to be able to scroll across so the race I am inputting
results for is in the first column after competitor details. It is
then easier to look across between the race being input and
competitor sail number which speeds up result input.

Hi Terry and Daniel

1.90 Build 2 has a check box in the global options to freeze all columns
prior to the race columns. See web site.

If this is too clunky, it can be changed to a per column selection thing -
but that could become a pain too. Try this first, it's essentiall back as
it was but taking into account that the race columns can move left and right
now.

Colin
