Over the last couple of weeks we have struggled to upload results to the Sailwave website from our club computer (seems to work fine from elsewhere). The message is 'Failed to upload page to Sailwave.com Error 0'
Any suggestions?

I don’t think its a Sailwave issue. But first check you are using the latest version of Sailwave.
Check that you club computer can browse to www.sailwave.com with your internet browser.
Uploading of results uses ftp protocol on port 21 so make sure you don’t have an firewall which is blocking ftp or port 21
There are many free ftp programs I use Core FTP lite which you could use to test your system with ftp. There are many public sites which don’t need a password to download from. Testing the upload you will have to find a site you can test with.

Can you do a manual test - from a CMD
prompt, put in ftp You should get a response asking for username and password. If
this is successful, your club PC connects to the website OK.
Enter bye to exit the ftp program.

I reloaded Sailwave and checked that FTP is working ok, but sending the results to Sailwave still hung before showing error 0.
I didn’t have a chance to check all avenues for firewall blocking/protected sites, but there was nothing obvious in the areas I did check.
Any other ideas as we have the NSSA youth regatta next week with over 300 boats, and uploading the results readily will be very important! (understatement!)?

Do you run Sailwave on a portable away from the club? If so would it
be possible to take to club and see if your PC can upload
successfully, this will then isolate the problem to the club PC. If
your PC can’t from the club it would suggest to me a change on the
router is blocking the FTP upload.
Kind regards,
Huw

I have had the same problem as William recently. One location using
my portable pc worked and another location using my desktop PC did
not work.
I have just now got my desktop PC working so I thought I would let
you know what worked for me. I changed the setting on the FTP tab of
Global Options for “Use Passive transfers…” from not having a
check mark to having a check mark and my transfer went through.
EUREKA.
Just checked by portable settings and the check mark is off and it
is not uploading to Sailwave from the same location/network as my
desktop pc. Changed the setting to “Use passive transfer…” and it
worked. So it appears there is a difference between either my ISP
routers (TP-Link and Belkin) and/or my ISP set-ups (ResqIT &
PlusNet).
So if you have a problem uploading results to Sailwave, I suggest
you try changing this setting before trying to find other solutions.
Kind regards,
Huw

I did get ours working by turning off a pnp setting on the router but I’ll try your option to see if it makes a difference too.
