I downloaded the file I sent you, opened it and got the error message when I attempted to send. After closing the error 400 message, I get the further message *Problem preparing or transmitting data - it has not been sent - either try again or click Back through the plugin and Cancel etc. *
I also clicked on “copy text to clipboard” on this box and have pasted that below.
Version: 2.28.1

I’m not particularly IT savvy but thought I’d have a look at the latest log file which I have downloaded after a further attempt

Not sure what all this means but I wonder if there is a problem with the ratings file although they do seem to be present in the file I am trying to upload. I’ve tried moving the ratings file but it tends to want to sit in C:\Users\Public\Public Documents\Sailwave\
Is this a problem? I’ve tried replacing adding a new folder called Documents instead of Public Documents but windows doesn’t seem to like it.
Sorry to keep on about this. If it’s not going anywhere I’ll just give up on uploading to PY!
Yours Patiently

Hi John,
I just tried the file you supplied and that uploaded just fine with no errors and without changing the date format
When you got the error what version of Sailwave were you using?
I can see this file came from 2.28.1 but perhaps you have upgraded at some point?.
It will work with the date format you are using there is no need to change it.
Give it another try and let me know. You can always delete it once you have uploaded it to the RYA

Here is the response from the RYA
Hi John,
Apologies for not getting back to you sooner – I was out of the office all day yesterday.
I’ve looked at the file you sent through and the error was with the date format. It is required to be sent in the format yyyy-mm-dd and will throw up error messages if any other format is used. I have amended the date in the attached file and it sends through without error.
Many thanks and best regards,
Rob.
and here is the file I sent them.

Hi John
If you use the date format 02/05/19 there should be no problem - I just tested it again and it worked fine
If you could send me the file you were having a problem with I will check it out.

Jon

Hi Huw
Thanks for the quick response.
For the appropriate format, I was referring to the screen below.
I use dd/mm/yy. I am using the latest version 2.28.1. The file was from last year but presumably, it would still open using the new version. I sent the file to the RYA and they found it loaded OK when they changed the format to yyyy-mm-dd. I was getting message Server returned Error 400.

John

Hi Jon,
I don't know if this is the page you were looking at -
https://www.sailwave.com/how-do-i-send-handicap-results-to-the-rya
On the page is written:
** You must set race dates (Edit+Race) with the form:
yyyy-mm-dd, e.g. 2015-03-21**.
** In later and current versions of Sailwave you can also use
dd-mm-yyyy and dd/mm/yy formats.** This conversion is
done by Sailwave to make the dates more natural for the users.
So Sailwave should be handling the conversion for you to the
format of yyyy-mm-dd that the RYA require. If that is not
happening in the latest version of Sailwave then please let us
know. I can’t remember which version of Sailwave the conversion
process was first included.
Kind regards,
Huw

Hi
I note
that the instructions on SW for uploading to PY RYA suggests yyyy-mm-dd, dd-mm-yyyy
or dd/mm/yy date formats are
acceptable.
However
I am informed by the RYA technical person that the
only acceptable date format is yyyy-mm-dd.
Is
there something I am misunderstanding here?
