I am using 2.85.
I have not been keeping the rating files 'clean' and just adding the ratings when setting up new boats, but it seems that 2.85 needs to have the ratings in a .csv file. Is that correct?
Since that I have cleaned up the .csv files and kept one active, but still note that I have seemingly 2 databases that SW is looking at with some classes noted, then a break followed by what seems to be my .csv file.
I have the global option pointing to one folder and there is only one .csv file in it.
Strange?
Hi Rob,
You don’t say which OS you are using. Let me know which OS you are using and whether it is a 32 or 64 bit and I’ll let you know the exact directories that it will be using to look for rating files. It has had to change a little with the newer OS’s. Users don’t have write permissions to the Program files directory in the newer OS’s and if you do write to these directories Windows creates a virtual directory with it merges with the true directory but to make things more complicated this virtual directory changes depending on who you login as. V2.8.5 Recommends you put them in a common Public directory so it will work whoever logs into the PC
Hope this helps
Jon

I don’t have a problem that I cannot work around, it is just that the list that I choose from seems to be pulling data from two .csv files, as I have 2 lists, with some overlap and I just wonder where else it is picking up that data.
I have just had a look at my ratings file, and changed the (14’ skiff) to (14 foot skiff) in my .csv database.
I opened the database in notepad and as there were spaces before the comma separating the boat class and the rating in some of the entries, I also deleted the spaces, thinking that may be an issue (but it wasn’t)
I now still see 2 sets of .csv files with a blank line separating them, when in a competitors dataset, and using the drop down box in the boat class field.
I note in the first ‘set’ there is the (14’ skiff) entry and in the second there is the (14 foot skiff) entry among others, proving that there must be 2 sources of data SW is gaining information from.
I just think it is interesting
