I am asking on behalf of Poole Yacht Racing Association. (UK)

We mainly do coastal races in cruisers racers from 20 ft to 40 ft under the Velocity Prediction Rating System (VPRS), TCFs vary between approximately 0.7 and 1.133.
The main fleet is divided into 3 main Classes. Competitors can also choose to race in the two handed division of the many classes and will be awarded a result in the main class as well as the two handed division. Series are of approximately six to eight races. Competitors will not necessarily enter all two handed division races as they may on occasions have additional crew.
I have tried setting up the two handed division as an alias of the main class. This would appear to work fine if all boats complete in all races of the two handed series, however, I am struggling to find a way to suppress or change an aliased result to DNC so that the complete two handed series can be scored.
I am using Sailwave Version 2.02 build 1 on Windows 7 (64bit)
Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like it should work…
If you send a copy of the sailwave file (.blw) to the group, I am sure someone will be able to see why it is not working and provide you with an answer.

I think you need the option ticked to use multiple scoring systems, so that each event can be scored separately with different values.
You may also have to set multiple starts.
If you come back to me I will look at the problem. send a problem file with what you want to achieve.

I set something up with vary similar requirements for our COGS Series in Cornwall a few years back. I decided that I could not use the alias – the main reason being that it does use the same elapsed times do you don’t have to double key the times.
I achieved it by using the “new like” button to copy the competitor and changed the fleet to 2HANDED. I scored per fleet and had 3 fleets listed – PY, IRC and 2HANDED (another PY). If I remember correctly this is the purpose of the multiple rating systems option.
Regards,
Andy.
