I'm very interested in using Sailwave or our club, but am
wondering how to make it work when we sometimes have PHRF
(T on D) fleets sailing different length courses. I'd like to keep
one boat database without having to set up 3-4 different
programs. I look forward to any tips.

Can you have different race lengths by class in one race?

I think if you replace the word Class with Fleet you will find the
answer is yes. We use different course lengths for our various classes and Sailwave
can now handle it. For example we have a PHRF A Fleet, J/105 Fleet, PHRF B,
PHRF C, etc. usually PHRF C and D and the J/22 fleets sail a shorter race.
I received your comments from the sailwave news group and wanted to ask a question. I sail on
Long Island Sound and am the Former J/22 Fleet Captain and Past Commodore of
the Mount Sinai Sailing Association. I am trying to get my organization to use Sailwave. What has your experience with it been like? I use
it for all the small boat racing (Lasers, Sunfish), I
haven’t tried it on a PHRF level yet. Also we have a strong J/105 Fleet now, unfortunately the J/22 fleet is gone. How strong is
your two fleets up in Maine.
