Hi,
I'm trying to use sailwave to score a high-point series regatta
which consists of 17 nights of racing with 3 races
every night.
I use a standard low point scoring system for every night
and then a high-point system for the series.
In the high point scoring, the winner of each night gets the number
of point equal to the number of participants on that given night. But
since it's a long series not all boats participate every night.
I was trying to use the custom low point formula on sailwave to do
this.
For example, I tried a formula of like r-p+1. The problem come with
the boats that didn't compete on a given night.
For example, if I have a total of 10 boats in the whole series and
only 7 boats sail on a given night,
I want the first boat to have 7 point, second 6,..... 7th boat 1 point
and zero points for the other 3 that
didn't show up.
Using this formula everything would be ok if negative numbers would be
converted to zero but I can't
get sailwave to do that. (E.g., if a boat doesn't show up I give her a
DNC which is 11 points...then
r-p+1= 7-11+1= -3 but sailwave gives me a value of 3 instead of zero
as desired.
Is there a better way to do this or another workaround the formula?
Thanks a lot for your help!!

Use s-p+1, calculates the score on the number of starters.
When you select User Interface > Pro [v] High point, then Scoring systems, tips apear on the screen when you click on the field.
Then... you decide whether a DNS, OCS, DSQ receives 0 or 1 point. Better 1 as an incentive to start instead of staying in the club house.
To avoid a DNF scoring as a last finishing boat, better use s-p+2... so if everyone finishes, the last gets 2 points, otherwise a DNF/OCS/DSQ gets 1.
Under scoring codes, set DNF as fixed to 1 (or finishers f -1 ???)
And set DNC as fixed to 0...
Regatta configured, now just sail and enjoy.
