Hello,
The club has decided to use DSRC Android App to capture race results for the juniors, who usually sail Topaz and Laser etc…
The Clubs main scoring program will remain as Sailwave but DSRC is being tested in order that results can be collected more effectively on the water and then exported into the club Dropbox for processing by Sailwave.
Using SWList to export key data on competitors etc seems to be straight forward, however on the DSRC documentation they seem to suggest that i can select more than 3 fields to export? not sure if that is still correct, also in SWList there is an option that comes up after you select Export to CSV to select 2 further filters, what are these used for please?
I am still hoping the the developer will port it to the Apple environment… not sure if i should hold my breath??
Thx
JohnW
Hi John
I think you misunderstood.
SWCList can export a csv either all the file or you can filter by one field e.g. a specific fleet.
When you export, all the fields that are set to be published in Sailwave are exported

Jon,
I probably have yes,
When i want to export the whole file i just press export and ignore the Filter options in the next dialogue, the csv file is exported in Sailwave ID sequence.
When i export but specify a sort order in the three boxes ie Rank, Helmname, Class the resulting file is generated in the correct order, ignoring the second dialogue box to choose a filter.
However what i have noticed is that if now go back and select no sort order it will still sort them although i have the sort fields blank, the only way to rectify this is to kill the SWList routine and restart it.
The same thing happens if i try to select a Filter, it works once then after that the resultof the export is of the first Fileter selection, i have to restart SWList to clear the Filter selection.
I run Sailwave etc on a Mac using Parallels
thx

Hi John & Jon,
I thought I’d posted this yesterday but must have missed something. (It was probably a bit more comprehensive). Here goes again…
Updated extract from DSRC FAQ below.
Key bits.
-
**Up-date is now possible to Sort in DSRC APP so sort order is not important**
-
You can select fields to publish by clicking on the Cols to Publish button
Important Note the fields
need to be visible in Sailwave file to show
as exportable in Select Columns to
Publish
If you can’t see the fields / columns you need open file in Sailwave.exe
click on the Columns button and make
sure fields are visible, save file and re-open in SWClist.
On a separate note.
Holding your breath for an Apple port would be very dangerous apple charge for Apps and have very complicated dev processes, Robbie has already give hundreds or hours to the development and the cost of new android devices (7" £40, 10" £100) made it the obvious choice.
FYI New feature in next release coming soon allows for multiple settings and competitors files for simple switch between series setups

Hope this helps

Kieth,
Thanks for the input and update on the capabilities of DSRC, as my focus is Sailwave and I am Apple centric i have enlisted a couple of other club members who are Android users to get to grips with DSRC.
I am not very familiar with the development environment with Android and Apple iphone, but understand what you are saying.
Thanks
JohnW
