Using the AERA YTC Rating System for a Regatta

I’m scoring a seven race open regatta using the AERA YTC rating for the handicap fleets for the first time.

I’ve had a search in the forums but can anybody confirm I should just use RYA Portsmouth as the rating system choice when using YTC?

Thanks

SteveV

Hi Steve,

Welcome back to the SUG forum.

Yes use RYA Portsmouth rating option to use YTC ratings.
I suggest you double click the rating column and change the default RYA PYto YTC.

Kind regards,
Huw

Huw,

many thanks for the confirmation and the tip over column title - will do.

Steve

that still shows Rating system: PY in the published results. E.g.

Sailed: 1, Discards: 0, To count: 1, Rating system: PY, Entries: 4, Scoring system: Appendix A

Maybe it’s my bad memory but I don’t think that string is targetable by the various translation features. We used an effect to do it. See ratsystem.js here:-

But seems overkill; maybe there is a better way…?

Hi Colin,

You can right-click the Rating column header and rename the column, which is what most people do if they want it to read YTC
As for the “summarycaption,” You are correct if someone wants to modify the wording of that, there is an effect (ModCaption) that is distributed with Sailwave install, so it should be on everyone’s PC already.
It’s from 2016

Jon

Hi Jon,

Yeah I renamed the column; it was the caption I was struggling with.

ModCaption. Should have looked, thanks Jon.
