Verion 1.94 Build 29 is available

This adds CHIPS has a hardwired high point scoring system. Seems OK.
There's also a new code setup item called "typical high point" which I think
satisfies CHIPS.

Great thanks Colin.

I have checked out the CHIPS scoring system facility and it works fine
and yes the formula is correct.

The document in the link to http://www.styvechale.net/chip.pdf is I believe
being updated by Malcolm and does not yet contain the analysis for the current version
of CHIPS 3 as now implemented. Malcolm
has this in hand I believe and when he has completed this it will be a great
reference giving an independent view of the system.

I suggest that it would be useful to make reference to the following file
(“All About CHIPS” which is in the Sailwave Files area) that contains useful
information for anyone interested in the detailed derivation of the formula and
its comparison with Rinderle B. I
think that would therefore be a the most relevant document to refer when clicking
the ‘comment’ against the CHIPS radio button since that gives all the details
of the scoring system.

The inclusion of the “typical high point” facility is useful and users
should select this to ensure they get the codes right by a single click. (For this the only matter that race
committees may wish to decide upon is whether to score BFD and OCS the same as
DSQ rather than DNF, the latter being the selection made in the “typical high point”
setup. That is a matter for local
judgement although we have instead gone for the DSQ option.)

Many thanks

Geoff
