Some more tweaks to version 2.00 beta. Seems
fairly stable now.

Sailwave

  • BUILD 0.5

  • Set the default button when starting to the open recent window - that
    means after starting you can hit the Enter key then move down with the
    keyboard to select a file to open. i.e. do it all with the keyboard.

  • Display the XML file in the default browser after saving.

  • Translate special chars when exporting as XML so the XML itself is
    not compromised.

  • Add email/web buttons to team/sponsor fields.

  • Show the crew member photo full size if you click on it.

  • Hook up the email button on the all crew details.

  • Hook up the show website button on the all crew details.

  • Hook up the photo button on the all crew details and show the photo
    in the image region.

  • Fix windows opening off screen after a resolution change for example.

  • Fix vertical scrolling

  • Fix a new series being affected by the one that was just closed.

  • Fix helm and crew appearing to the right of races for a new series.

    this is OK for CHIPS and Rinderle B.

Helm, Skipper, Owner, Guest, Navigator, Tactician, Pit, Mast, Bowman,

Main trimmer, Port Trimmer, Starboard Trimmer, Port Grinder, Starboard
Grinder.

Like all competitor fields, these can be renamed and used for other
purposes.

  • Add ability to set crew weight in ISAF SCHRS calculator.

  • Change to a single document interface philosophy a la OpenOffice etc.

This should make Sailwave much more stable under Linux and Apple OS
emulators.

You can now safely open as many Sailwave series as you like -

each one is a completly separate instance of Sailwave.

Use the Windows menu to switch between them -

great for Vista with the thumbnail view when switching between apps.

  • Update the RYA returns post processing URL.

  • Fix publishing by email using SMTP - i.e. send now.

  • Fix SMTP user name and password in global options.

  • Fix selecting the correct tab when entering Edit+Competitor.

  • Do some locale fixes. Unfortunately all radio button translations
    may be lost

(depends when you last updated) and may need to be redone,

but Sailwave doesn’t use that many… sorry about that.

Colin, In the new competitor fields it would be nice to have the first name, last name and full name. First Name - Colin, Last Name - Jenkins, Full Name - Colin Jenkins. This would allow us to sort the information by last name, but display full name on the results.

Hi:

Looking through the questions asked... this is probably the best
thread to ask this question.

I have been using Sailwave for the club scoring in Nanaimo, B.C. for
sometime and we have been recently discussing going to a high point
system for our scoring. The problem I have is that unless you hand
enter scores for DNF, DNS, etc. there appears no way to have Sailwave
enter the points for the high point system for the special codes. In
reading this thread, it appears that the private beta release build
0.5 has been designed to address this issue.

Additionally, we give excused absentee points for club officers
attending handicapper meetings, or racers doing race committee. The
way we have done this in a low point system is to use the average of
all races. This doesn't seem to work in a CHIPs scoring system given
the number of points varies for every race dependent on the number of
racers. Is there a methodology of redress in the CHIPs scoring
system that gives an average score?
