website rebuild

Hi

I am just starting a project to rebuild our club website using the
Joomla! Content Management system.

Would like some feedback from anyone with experience in integrating
Sailwave with Joomla!

At present, experimenting with incorporating a result page into a
wrapper but this might not be the best way to do it, and ideally I'd
like to have some kind of index or menu to all the results for the
season without putting each race or series on the main menu.

So I can do this project leaving the current site intact, I'm working
on a 'sandbox' domain http://www.jafphp.co.uk

thanks

The language is greek but you can see how I posted rsesults from sailwave

Sorry i looked now on your site  and you did it almost

a little Tip for your event bungee… take the file part from your media manager out of Joomla and fill the path into Sailwave /Eventbungee… that helps to publish it

cheers Alex

Hi Alex

Thanks for the advice about where to load the burgee images. Did you
have to make any other changes to the Sailwave style sheet?

I checked out your site - great template - who made that for you?I am
currently using a free template I downloaded with some changes to
incorporate our banner etc. Later when I learn how to do it, I may
make a template myself. But for now I am concentrating on learning
about Joomla possibilties.

Hi Jenny again,

for example… in Joomla you have a directory, called Mediamanager, there you lay up your Event burgee… after that, you press on theat tiny image and get the path ( Image / URL code )to this image, take only that what stands between “YOUR EVENT BURGEE.jpg” take that pass and fill it in to sailwave… but you can´t copy it in… i think a buck from sailwave

The past shall have the name?! http://www.jafphp.co.uk/images/M_images/joomla_rss.png
try that out  and you will see how fine it works

Our Templete is made by our other Admin Ingo… i changed some settings in php…i don´t know it exactly

Cheers Alex

We have just started our summer series and I started a new Series in SW for this.

In my haste I forgot to select PY Handicap as the default Handicap therefore it used the default scoring system as None.

Results were printed and cups were handed out, but after I got home I realised the error and changed it to PY. This slightly changed the positions of compitors

WHat I want to know is how does the “None” Selection calculate Handicaps different. (i.e What is the formula it uses)

I have just started to look at Joomla, with a view to updating Warsash Sailing Club

website, and make it easy for others to feed in news, social events etc. Seem to be very few books on the subject, Dummies for Joomla is due out in June.

Got a feeling I need to work out how to generate my own template to do the things I want. Happy to swop info when I learn a bit more.

Here is one example of a sailing club website I implemented in December 2005 with Joomla.

Sailwave results are found under ‘Results’ on the main menu. It’s a “quick” solution, using standard Joomla “out of the box” functionality, but seems to work reasonably well.

www.yorkshiredales.sc

There may be better ways to integrate sailwave results - if so I’d be interested to hear how!

Hi everyone,

I´ve been using a CMS-system for many
years now and I integrated an ASP-coded file. The code is in this usergroup
under “files”.

The platform is FullXML, an Open Source
software (http://www.opensource.fxmods.com/)
They can offer 100Mb for a very small fee.

Too see it live with asp-code goto http://www.zoom8.se/default.asp?id=3&mnu=3.
Another site is www.lasersweden.se

Interested?

“None” means don’t do a handicap calc. Corrected may = elapsed, not sure, but essentially it turns handicapping off.
