On reflection I can’t work out how to do it
safely.
The Sailwave site is constantly under attack by hackers. They try
all sorts of things to inject into the databases without signing
in. If I did a simple email registration, they’d be in like a
shot posting to the news feed etc.
Why is this not a problem for facebook and twitter themselves? -
because new users have no followers or friends - they’d be posting
in a vacuum.
Sailwave is a much smaller enterprise and what users post is out
there immediately.
For some reason the social signin keeps hackers out - not sure why
but it does.
I suppose my question is - when twitter for example has a mega
secure sign up process using https etc - why not sign up to
twitter to be able to log into Sailwave? Or am I missing
something.
