Hi Steve,
I want to set up a new global scoring system in place of the
default one but
when I create one it only has a life in that series - current
solution is to
create a master blank series with that scoring system and then
Open, Save As
to get a new one with the new scoring series extant.Regards
Steve Willis
Yes, scoring system are local to each series - as if everything else (except
the global options) - this is a policy I took early on for several reasons;
mostly for safety - if you have global scoring systems which evolve with
time and open old series and resacore - you'll not get the results you
expected. It also makes a series portable - you can send it to sombody else
and socre it and it'll product the right results without any need for
ancillary files. All the global options in Sailwave are cosmetic and do not
affect the results. This philosophy has been compromised recently with one
feature, but rather than use that as a precedent to open the flood gates I'm
going to 'fix' it. I still believe it is a good policy.
What is needed is ways to import/export scoring systems (and competitors
and...) in and out of series - and that will come soon.
Regards,
Colin
