Hi SUG Members,
I was asked, via an email by a Canadian user using the RYA NHC progressive rating system, what ratings are published by Sailwave in the Overall Series table and in the Individual Race tables.
In the Overall Series table, if they are set for publishing, the rating column labelled by default NHC1 contains the default / base/ starting rating for the series.
The column labelled NewRating by default, contains the rating for the next race to be sailed in the series. For example, if 3 races in a 5 race series have been completed it will show the rating for R4.
In the Individual Race tables, if published, the rating column labelled by default NHC1 shows the rating being used to calculate the corrected times for that race. But like in the Overall Series table the NewRating column shows the rating for the next race to be sailed in the series. For example, if 3 races in a 5 race series have been completed it will show the rating for R4. It does not show if looking at the R1 individual race table the rating that would be used in R2.
The way to see the rating used for each race is to switch the grid view on the screen to show the race ratings. This view can be published but you will get a warning that you might want to score the series first before publishing, just ignore. How do you display the race ratings? On the tool bar is a drop down arrow beside the words “Scored points” after scoring the series, click the drop down arrow and select “Race ratings”
I will update User Guide with this information and make the newer version available.
Kind regards,
Huw
