Is nett short for some other word? I am more accustomed to seeing
'Net' used in relation to adding or subtracting.

The sailwave “Nett
Score” is the “Series Score” as defined by the Racing Rules
of Sailing. Why it is called “Nett” I have no idea.
RRS - “Each
boat’s series score shall be the total of her race scores excluding her
worst score.”

As far as I know Net and Nett are interchangable - put Nett into google and
there are millions of Nett Totals etc. I prefered Nett to Net at the time
for seom reason. However, if it's a Britishism (which I suspect) I'll
change the 'factory default' text to Net.
