Wind Indexing for US Portsmouth Handicapping

OK, I've taken care of an earlier issue about competitors utilizing
updated US Sailing Portsmouth ratings. Now I have a new problem to
resolve. I ran through a few simulations this weekend to ensure that I
had everything set up properly. What I discovered was that after
entering specific wind speeds, it became obvious that the program was
using only the US Portsmouth default numbers - the wind ranges for the
specific wind ranges were not used.

I went to "Scoring System + Rating System" to ensure that I had things
set. The USSA Portsmouth button is enabled, but the right side of the
box shows no options (as I recall from the past) to ensure that wind
indexing is enabled (and defined) - it is completed empty, except for
the "Set competitor ratings from rating files before scoring" tick box.

How do I set things up to utilize wind indexing under the Portsmouth
handicapping system?

Thanks for any help.

Keith

I’ve never used it, but did you check the `wind indexed ratings’ box in the Setup / User Interface / Pro list?

Doing this causes the right side of the US Portsmouth scoring system to appear for wind ixed ratings.

That information should be added to the Help file. The first and
most difficult to find step in using wind indexed ratings, is turning
on the PRO function. I recently bought a new lap top and downloaded
the latest version of Sailwave. As a long time user and supporter of
Sailwave (2001 to present) I did not expect any issues using it. I
tried to use it in a regatta this past weekend and could not get wind
indexed ratings to work. It kept defaulting to the B 2-3 rating.
The help file as written was of no use. Fortunately my co-scoring
chair had his laptop there with an older version of Sailwave.
