There is no standard method. However you could use the USSA class values
posted on their web site - wind indexing was added to handle the USSA
Portsmouth rating system, which operates like the RYA PN scheme, except that
when clubs send in results they include an estimated average wind strength
per race - the USSA then collates all these results and publishes a default
rating for each class (like the RYA does) but also publishes values
recommended for use in a particular wind strength - this is because
performance is not linear across wind strength or class. I generalised the
concept in case users found it useful but there is nothing built-in to
compute wind indexed rating values. See the USSA web site for more
information. I think some users have in fact used it (e.g. for PHRF) and it
would be interesting to hear in what way and how they're getting on with it.
