Window XP x64

Hi all,

Is anyone else using XP x64 with Sailwave? I have just changed to a new PC and Sailwave (Build 7) doesn't seem very happy - ie it won't run!

Phil

The error message I get is

'the application failed to initialize properly (0xc0150002)Click OK to terminate the application.'

Thanks Microsoft - Brilliant.

Any techies out there can help? Please?

Phil,

There was a thread a while ago about this on 32 bit XP - it was
somehting to do with Explorer version 7 I think! - search for
“initialize properly” and/or “initialise
properly” and you should find it.

That error code seems to indicate an incompatible dll file.

The only such dll file I can see in Sailwave is associated with lua5.1.

Could it be that the lua5.1.dll is incompatible with XP64 ? Or are there any other dll’s in SW?

Colin?

Good point.

Phil, try this. Go to:-

http://luabinaries.luaforge.net/download.html

download the win64 zip file.

extract the whoel lot including the Microsoft.vc80 subfolder into the
sailwave installation folder - usually c:\program files\sailwave.

start sailwave

That did not work for me, the original message is now replaced by:

The application has failed to start because lua5.1.dll was not found. Even though I can see lua5.1.dll there alongside Sailwave.exe.

Which is very weird.

sorry

Yep tried that just now, still the same, can't find lua5.1.dll.

I thought 32 bit apps ran fine under xp64, and that if we wanted to use the 64 bit lua, then you would need to rebuild Sailwave as a 64 bit app?

thanks

Hi all,

Thanks for all this serious technical investigation and testing - all way above my head!

Have we reached a solution that I can use? Is the trial version mentioned earlier for general release or just for investigation.

Thanks, Phil

Hi Phil,

The upshot is that when I release the next build I will remove Lua (its
not integrated yet anyway so no harm) and I need to wait until they fix
he maifest problem their end.

http://luabinaries.luaforge.net/#history

They’ve done it in one download but not the win32 one.

Until I realse the next build use the test build I uploaded. It’s a
v2.00 build 3 incarnation so does not have any of the twekas in the
normal build after build 3.

Will upload build 9 very soon. Need to fix discard strikeout and rip
out Lua then will do.

Hi all,

Thanks for all this serious technical investigation and testing - all way above my head!

Have we reached a solution that I can use? Is the trial version mentioned earlier for general release or just for investigation.

Thanks, Phil

I would heartily agree with that Tony, Fantastic support for a minority OS. Brilliant.

I will probably wait for build 9 and get it all in one go.

Thanks again,

Phil
