Hello All,
I've a strange feeling this is to do with Win XP permissions but hopefully
someone can point me in the right direction.
Using Sailwave version 1.51 and when I start it up it gives me an access
denied error for the ratings file. Unfortunately when I tell it to look
somewhere else for the file it never remembers this setting. Also when I go
to publish a series it only gives me an option to alter the
disqualification procedures, very strange.
Any pointers for this would be appreciated as I'm sure it's something
obvious thats happened as it was working fine till now.
Thanx Trevor.

Trevor,
Dunno about the "access denied" error. I'm using XP and I haven't
set any specific authorisations on the subdir where Sailwave lives.
I can't change the ratings-files' location either. Even when I
correct the location straight into the file c:\windows\sailwav2.ini
(where this information is stored), it will be reset to [whatever]
\Sailwave\ratings.
I suggest reinstalling Sailwave on XP using the
default/administrative account (if you can) into a new subdir and
placing the ratingsfile in [whatever]\Sailwave\ratings.
Don't forget to move your race-files / BLW's.
Hope this helps,
Regards,
Jeroen J.A. Tirion

Hi Trevor,
Was everything OK with 1.50? Can you try again with 1.50 to make sure and
eliminate the possibility that something has changed on your machine
configuration. I'll fix the rating file location problem ASAP. I don't
have XP yet so it's difficult for me to comment but I would echo Jeroen's
advice about installing as admin and is that fails try using it as admin as
well.
Regards,
Colin

Colin, Trevor,
I've just downloaded and installed 1.51 on XP, and all is fine. I
have full admin rights on my machine, which may be relevant.

Hi All, the machine that Sailwave is installed on doesn't have admin rights
and unfortunately as it is dual use between the office work and results
that is unlikely to change. Might have to cobble some spare parts for
another machine.
Haven't been able to get down to the machine due to work but will try out
all the suggestions over the weekend I hope.
Thanx for the help so far.
Trevor.
