XML Export

Hi all

I've just downloaded Sailwave 1.57. How do you get the Export to XML
to work. The message box saying work in progress appears, click Ok,
but no XML file.

Any help much appreciated

Thanks

Hi Nick,

I had to halt work on the XML stuff beuacse I needed to do the start stuff first to get the final structure I needed; henced the WIP message - which I agree in hindsight is ambiguous as to whwther ot not you'll get anything or not (not, as you have found out!) I'll get it done for the release after the next one; i.e. 1.59.

Hi, first post for me to this list,

I am investigating possibilities to link our Club's sailwave - which is
used as our principle racing results database - with our Club Web site.
I was disappointed when I got that "WIP" message after discovering that
menu item - I thought that I had found my solution! And now you tell us
that it will be in the version /_after_/ next :frowning: .

In the meantime, I can't see any obvious way to export out of sailwave
to integrate with a web server and database. Are there any other means
by which I can transfer results out of sailwave? I haven't investigated
plug-ins, the Y+Y plugin looks promising at first glance, but turns out
to just generate a an email with an attachment, and in any case it
didn't work on my setup when I tried it.

I am not moaning, in case my tone sounds a bit off. It's a very nice
bit of software and I know that people at the club find it easy to use
and very helpful in administering our yacht racing. But it would be
great if we could integrate it's data with our Web site.

If you do have any suggestions for exporting data to a web site, I would
be very grateful for any pointers or advice.

I'll see if I can bring it forward a bit; I agree that in this day and age it's a much needed facility.

In the meantime, I can't see any obvious way to export out of sailwave to integrate with a web server and database. Are there any other means by which I can transfer results out of sailwave? As it stands your only solution (other than HTML via the publish menu) is to
use the File+Export menu to export as text.
