Y-Flyer Class Races

Hello,

I am the Fleet Scorer for Y-Fleet one.
We run races on the order of about 50 to 60 per year. We do this in
two series; of approximately half of the yearly total. This is the
first year (of 30 to my knoledge) that we have had to resort to an
overall yearly series score to break a tie for second place.

I have been using Ex-cel to do the scores; and it was relatively
easy; just plug in the scores per race and calculate per series; then
recalculate for the entire year. The throw-outs are manually
accounted for then corrected.

I would like to be able to do the same in sailwave. However, this
year is the first I have used Sailwave, and I could not find a method
without, re-inputting all of the scores.

Have I missed something?

Each of our series requires nine races to qualify; and allows for one
throw-out for nine races and one for each two over nine races. The
Scores are averaged (by fleet rules).

If I have missed something, Please let me know;Sailwave is easier to
input into. There is also the plan to try to hand off the scoring
duties in the future; so ease of learning is also an issue.

Thanks

Hi, John!

I’m not sure if I get all your points, but it looks to me as it is two separate series and that you want to put them together to do a Overall…

If this is correct, it’s quite easy in SW.

Just score the first series, then the second. Both as separate files. Finaly you just open the first series and merge in the second, then rescore an VIOLA! If you then save the file with a "third name, you’ll have 3 files: Series1, Series 2, and EntireYear!

regards,

Martin
